HoloLens2, XR10 demo day brings the grins

Rork Projects’ Melbourne team were introduced to the Trimble XR10 and HoloLens2 when BuildingPoint Australia’s Fraser Wright conducted a demo for the team.

Rork Projects is a national Indigenous accredited fit-out and refurbishment company, servicing the corporate and government sectors.

Operating since 1997, it now has offices in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Fraser explained the theory behind the tech, which includes a headset and hard hat utilising mixed-reality technology to take 3D content off the screen and into the real world, before Rork team members donned the gear and found out for themselves just how awesome it is.

“The headset went from one head to another, creating the same grin each time,” Fraser said.

“Rork hasn’t done a lot with new tech lately and having been investigating hardware and software solutions.

“Hololens2 grabbed their attention and they asked to see it in action so we organised the demo day.

“They’ve some projects in the pipeline that would benefit hugely, both for Rork and for the clients with the use of Hololens2.”

HoloLens2 can provide project stakeholders with enhanced 3D design review, co-ordinations, collaboration and project management processes.
